Creating modules for environement use?

Having recently learned to develop a high-quality archiviz through some online courses and learning programmes my long term aim is to turn my modular buildings and have them as placeable objects on newly developed environments.

At current i am unsure how to export the modules so that keep all there required attributes to then be exported (can they even be exported?) and then placed upon a newly developed map?

i assume you took different pieces and combined them into a single building yes? if thats the case you can select all the pieces and right click and say convert to static mesh

you didnt mention they were brushes. brushes i dont, use and in actual games they are replaced by static meshes when used for geometry. i just located the option to make it into a static mesh. select the brush and go to the details panel and look for the brush settings section and expand it via the little triangle-ish bit at the bottom. there you will see a option create static mesh. at least thats how to find it in 4.17.

I have tried to save it as a static mesh collectively but my box brushes (which make up the walls and interior walls) don’t come up when loaded as a static mesh in another level.

Is there a way of making the box brushes a static mesh as well as all the components.

Thanks for the info. When i create the Box brushes into static meshes, it completely removes all of my doorways. Is there a reason for this?

Ideally, i am trying to create an architecturally correct unit to make as a modular element so we are then able to import it into other levels.

Do you have any ideas or alternatives as to how this could work? As the original process, i learned to create these units was by using box brushes as walls and subtractive box brushes to create door ways.

try selecting the wall brush and the subtractive brush (used as the doorway) then convert to mesh. that should combine the two and make what your looking for.

theres a tutorial on this topic here

Thanks so much, this works. One final thing, i have purchased a package of doors and roads but instead of being able to add to the project it wants me to create an entirely new project. What is the best way of introducing these elements to an exisitng project, that i am then able to put into my building and then into the level.

the best thing i can suggest for that issue is to create a new project like it says to then migrate the assets to the project you want them in.
