Having Issues With Subtraction tool

I have been discussing with one of the moderators in your forum and have not come up with a solution and it was requested that I mention it in here. I am currently designing a platformer. I converted my project to the recent 4.3 update and today I started a new level. When I finished the structure of my level I decided to use the Subtraction tool to set a door, it was unresponsive. I did not have an issue with it when I was using the previous version, I also tried Bringing in an additive and then converting it into a subtractive brush and it was still unresponsive. Was thinking this is my computer but after talking to one of the moderators I have discovered that it is in fact a bug.

I will just add the link to your forum thread: https://forums.unrealengine/showthread.php?24518-Subtraction-tool-issues&p=106781#post106781

Hi,

I’m pulling some information from the forums since you found a resolution there.

The solution to the problem is that you cannot use the Geometry/BSP subtractive brush with static meshes. These are only capable of working with other Geometry/BSP’s in your scene.

Thank you!

Why my subtractive bsp not cutting my additive bsp. Logic makes no sense to me.

I just got through playing around with the drag and dropping new bsp’s into the scene. This is what happened. I dragged a new subtractive bsp(cube) from the geometry section onto a additive bsp. It worked in cutting the additive object in half, however if I transform the subtractive bsp to lets say a with of (300) and then update geometry. The subtractive bsp suddenly decides to say"hey since you changed my transform, I am going to keep the name Subtractive, but I am not going to subract from the additive object you dragged me on to originally. So can you please change me back to my original transform that was x(200) y(200) z(200).

So I need help into knowing how to fix this issue when transforming the subtractive bsp to keep subtracting

t when I drag the subtractive bsp cube onto an additive bsp cube, it cuts, however, as soon as I update geometry, the subtractive bsp cube stops cutting… That is what I just found out. I still need help on this subject :frowning:

@Inevitables: This is a separate issue than the one in this thread which deals with using BSP in combination with Static Meshes.

Can you please post this as a new question on the AnswerHub with your information listed in this post?

Thank you!
