Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Using mouse cursor on screen/viewport to move FPS pawns camera

Hey all, first time posting.

I am using the FPS prefab, which I have made static other than looking (mouse axis). It will always stay static.

I have a python program running in the background to track a laser pointer and return x/y values of AND move the mouse position on the screen.

In testing, I noticed that the FPS camera would not move due to the movement of the mouse of the screen from the Python program, but would however move when given actual mouse input.

After doing some searching I read up on 2D screen mouse position vs 3D world space, and a few of the functions out there to convert the mouse position on the viewport/screen to 3D space. I'm at a bit of a loss.

What I'm basically looking for is when the mouse moves, the camera moves (the mouse snaps from point to point via the Python program, and I am ok with the Unreal camera snapping to the mouse x/y coordinates as well)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
