Unreal Engine does not want to install

Every time I try to install unreal engine no matter what the version, I get stuck on it saying please wait then it goes down to the previous version. after i try to install the different version it eventually crashes. I have read about two similar people that have had this problem and have tried there solutions, and it still does not want to work.

It is a similar problem to that but it still won’t work when I tried those soutions.

Hi Drakgula,

Sorry to hear that you are having this issue. Are you a new user trying to attempt your first download, or have you downloaded the engine previously?

Can you please offer more clarification for what you mean by “it goes down to the previous version”?

There are two other users currently who have also reported the same (or similar) problem. Neither has any solution yet, but we are investigating.

Thanks

Update with a possible solution. Please try the following.

Locate DefaultEngine.ini in C:\Program Files\Unreal Engine\Launcher\Engine\Programs\NoRedist\UnrealEngineLauncher\Config

Add the following lines to this ini (without the bullet points):

  • [Portal.OSS]
  • EntitlementUpdateCheckTime=600

Save the ini and relaunch the Portal. Please let us know if this helps. If not, please provide new “veryverbose” logs for us again.

Thanks!

This is my first time trying to download it. and by previous one, for example it says 4.2.1 and says install, when i click on it it says please wait and after a while it will go down to 4.1 and so one and so on until it crashs

It seems to be working now that i added those lines, thank you very much for the help, and it is busy downloading
