Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Set Scalar Parameter Value not connecting

I am very new and doing my best to follow tutorials to learn more, I was following this tutorial, http://martiancraft.com/blog/2015/02/disintegrating-baddies/ and the author here connects wires in a way that my UE will not allow.

There are two differences, first mine requires create dynamic material instance to have a target, it will give an error if it doesn't that it is not a "Primitive Component" Second, and possibly more importantly, I cannot connect a Dynamic Material Instance to Set Scalar Parameter Value.

The engine will not allow me. Is the tutorial out of date? Where do I go from here.

1 answer: sort voted first

I fixed it but don't understand why. For some reason, it works if I drag out of the Dissolve Material instance but I can't generate something it can connect to otherwise.
