Engine Performance Regression

Hey All,

So recently, over the past couple engine versions (4.18 & 4.17), I have been getting some terrible engine performance regressions. It seems to happen when I make large Content Browser edits such as deleting a number of materials or meshes. I always run ‘Fix up redirectors’ afterwards to make sure everything is in order and references aren’t broken.

I am not 100% on the repro steps because sometimes it seems to happen at random times, but I am just really curious to know if anyone else is seeing this same issue. Others on my team see the same problem at random times while working in the editor, which usually requires us to close and restart the application. To be more specific, the performance regression I am referring to is a serious drop frame rate. I have a pretty beastly machine, and as I mentioned, this did not always occur so there has to be something that has changed on your end.

I have attached my Dxdiag as I am sure you will need it. I would just like to know if anyone else is seeing this at any point, and if there is a way to resolve this?

Sigh…I really just wanted to know if this is something that your team is aware of since searching for it in the issues tracker is lack luster at best.
