Shadows on static mesh VS Shadows on skeletal mesh - Static is messy and the Skeletal is clean

Its pretty much defined by the title. Im not quite sure what im doing wrong, i only know that one looks better than the other. Left side is static mesh, right is skeletal. Imgur: The magic of the Internet

Baked shadows are not what im using. In a dynamic setting, the appearance of the shadow is still not the same. I dont want the mesh to be static either, its meant to attach to the character himself. Imgur: The magic of the Internet These are both in moveable settings. Im not really aiming for realism however, just for it to look clean. What Im working on isnt realistic.

I guess on static meshes you have baked static shadows and on skeletal it’s dynamic…
Dynamic lighting and shadows are going to be clean but unrealistic (lack of GI) static light bake will give you realistic results with GI but you’ll have to set your scene properly to get nice bakes…

Im really dumb. I fixed it, for some reason smoothing the shading caused this.
