How will 'own created music' be licensed when the game will be released?

Hello, my concern here is that after i’ve created the OST for my game, will i have to license it somewhere else or it will be automatically licensed with the game, when released. What will be my rights in both cases? I would like an official answer, but everything related is much appreciated.

If this post has an answer, please point me towards it.

Thanks!

I can’t give you an official answer because your question isn’t about Unreal Engine. I can say that the normal scenario is that all game content, including the artwork, story, and music, are licensed together as a package. It’s not licensed separately unless someone is also selling the OST separately.

I understand. Based on your scenario, how does this apply if someone chooses to post the OST to YouTube? Will the respective video going to be copyrighted by Unreal, or not at all?

Well in that case the author has a right to force the content off of YouTube if they don’t want it there.

But Epic will never own your soundtrack.

Thank you for your time.
