It says Fortnite is already running when I open epicgames

So, I open Epicgames launcher and I try to play fortnite. But it says that it’s already running, so I cant push on it to launch.

Just sign out and sign back in; that’s what worked for me.

close anti cheat launcher from task manager and open fortnite again / Enjoy

Nope, I’ve a Win10 machine, and several times the launcher has said Fortnite Running, but checking the process list, there is NOTHING, no FN, nothing else to do with Epic or the anti-cheat. The launcher is bugged, or stuck on some system atom check or some other signal that it’s checking that is not correct.

This happens with a lot of people, then they just have to restart their system. Fix this ! Either check the thing properly, or give an option from the launcher to ‘stop FN’, or to say WHY it thinks it is running.

sign out + sign back in
or
restart pc, if prompted close all applications
