Dedicated Server Infrastructure and Executable
I assume that it is best to run multiple instances of dedicated server processes in a single physical server and then to have multiple physical servers. Then I think you would need load balancers and all that crazy stuff.
I get the sense that I am going to have to buy some very expensive servers if I am going to got the dedicated server route. If my assumptions are right, do you have any recommendations on what type of routers, modems, and physical servers I should buy? I'm new to this stuff so sorry if my question does not make much sense?
Also, is there any easier way to automatically build dedicated servers with the unreal engine than having to checkout the engine source code and perform modifications to it just to build a separate dedicated server executable?
