How to properly disable source control

I have a been trying to properly disable source control on a project that was once connected to perforce.
Unfortunately in order to properly package the project Unreal wants the project to still be connected to source control.
Is their any way to revert a project back to being fully writable and editable from one system and fully remove it from source control so it can be packaged and modified fully from one computer with no external connects to source control?
