Orthogographic Camera casting weird shadows

I’m using a Orthographic Camera above my level for a placement mode. the level is a normal room, so we’re looking through the backface of the ceiling. the only light is a directional light pointing directly down. the yellow bars are planes with the normal facing up, the are above the level ceiling

I’m getting this weird shadow casting that seems to be anywhere that is not near a wall. its also casting the shadow on the yellow planes above the level with normal’s facing up.
