Number of instances gets reset to zero, when you duplicate an actor blueprint

Steps to reproduce:

  • Add a blueprint actor in editor.
  • Add a Hierarchical Instanced Static mesh component or Instanced Static mesh component in it.
  • Add some instances to it.
  • Try duplicating that actor using alt + drag in editor. It will duplicate the actor, but it will have zero instance in it.

I have tried creating new project, it happens in it too.
