Can i use unreal 4 on gtx 940mx 4gb gddr5 gpu

I want to ask if I could make game with good graphics on a gtx 940mx. my gpu has GDDR5 memory and 4gb vram.my laptop also has 16gb ram coupled with 7th generation core i5 clocked at 2.50ghz turboboost upto 3.0

its hard to say for sure and laptops arent exactly supported but i would venture to say that yes you could make games using that setup. you may need to use an older version due to the hardware limitations of laptops. i would guess that 4.17 would be fine to work with and possibly newer versions as well. to know for sure based purely on hardware check the recommended spec and compare your hardware to that of the spec with sites like gpuboss and the hierarchy charts on toms hardware.

the other thing to keep in mind is how you define “good graphics”. if your looking to do hyper realism with super high poly assets then in that situation ost systems would have issues. if your just starting out and looking to learn then you should have no issue. just look into the basics of optimization and dont go overboard with poly count and you should be fine.
