Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Dynamic Mat Inst on Beam PSys working in editor but not preview/game

The question says it all...

Tried setting it up with set material, with set named material parameter, or adding the material param to the array

works in editor, not in preview.

Is the editor using different engine then preview? Doesn't make any sense.

Is this a known bug?

I'm getting crazy. Now setting opacity on the particle itself trough a parameter doesn't work either.

It did before.

Only works in the constructor.

Concerning setting the scalar particle parameter..

It seems beam doesn't update when set to 0 spawn and 0 life which makes sense but is not immediately apparent.

... so i added just a tiny bit of life and it worked.

Thus a color over life works too, then you can set life back to 0 and it's smooth.

Same for size by life.

Still no luck with dynamic material though. So i guess answer isn't given yet.

That said, can't wait until Niagara. I guess Epic won't fix bugs or add features to cascade anymore. And we'll finally have total control over everything !
