Is there a way to import a point cloud file into Unreal without having to convert into a mesh outside Unreal

I want to import and use/filter point clouds directly in unreal.
All forums I’ve seen using point clouds have converted the point cloud into a mesh or texture.
Then simply displaying that mesh in unreal.

I guess it’s some how too late, but are you aware of the Lidar Point Cloud Plugin
I am running UE5.1
