UE4 Running slow on nice PC

I have noticed this for some time but for some reason on my very nice computer UE4 tends to run very slow and the FPS constantly drops dramatically. I have worked in UE4 on cheaper computers and it was fine.

Intel(R) Core™ i7-6850k CPU @ 3.60GHz

Dual Nvidia 1080 with an sli bridge with
64.0 GB of ram

500 GB of SSD

And then about 4 TB of HDD

So what could possibly be causing UE4 to run poorly

Switch off GeForce Experience. The overlay has been causing issue in UE4 for a while.

Uninstall the softwares
which you have used for a long time

Sadly it did not change anything

Already cleaned disk

Hi man, i have a question. I want to make some new pc build like you for UE4 and i want to buy 2 gtx 1080ti (maybe 4 gtx). I found that UE4 can work only in SLI mode with 2gtx cards and want to ask you if your performance in UE4 is 2x faster with 2gtx cards or how much is UE4 faster when you use 2gtx cards instead of 1gtx card. Thx

Where did you find this info? Historically, the editor has not supported SLI / Crossfire at all…

Don’t buy 4. The reason for that is that Nvidia has thrown SLI with more than 2 cards out of the window with the GTX 10xx series cards. It’s no longer officially supported.

I would try turning off SLI completely (remove one card, completely reinstall driver). SLI was always plagued by weird performance shenanigans in the past. Maybe worth a shot.
