How to add transparency to material

How do I apply transparency so that the grass doesn’t have the green background on them? The image provided to me was a TIF file and UE does not support that so I used PS to save it as TGA. I couldn’t use masked because I don’t have an image for opacity mask.

Change Blend Mode (detail panel in the bottom left) to Translucent or Additive. This will enable the Opacity pin on the material node. Plug in the grey pin from the Texture Sample there.

Should work.

I also had to change lighting mode to Surface TV

Surface TV ?? Not sure I’ve ever heard of that. Am I doing this wrong? Possible typo? What’s a Surface Television lighting mode?
