When running the codeworks installer the docs show to choose 1R6u1. This option is not available no matter which codeworks installer I choose. Of course, I first used the one inside Engine/Extras/AndroidWorks
I’m on Windows 10. Here’s a snippet from the docs:
I’ve had some success installing 1R7 direct from nvidia, though the debugger isn’t working through Visual Studio for me - not sure whether that’s related or a separate issue.
I seem to have remedied it and made the project launch on my S8 - which was the goal all along.
The process was:
Completely clean Codeworks and Java off the machine, delete left over files, scrub registry.
Reinstall Codeworks from UE4 - used 4.19.2, and Codeworks 1R6 (not 1R6u1). During installation, ensure to select ALL SDK installations from 19 up. My system popped multiple errors during this, but I kept clicking and eventually it installed them all and I think those errors were specific to my system.
delete all intermediate stuff, as well as project defaults (so they reset)
double check all plugins are only the ones being used.
In project settings/android - set minimum to sdk to 19 - I also set target to 24 since that’s for my device.
Build.
Launch on device
Not sure if that really helps anyone else - but my suspicion is that 1R6 is fine for the latest 4.19 BUT, it needs all the SDK versions?
Just my guess, and don’t really know what I’m talking about, just that the above worked for me
I’m facing the same issue here, I visited the NVIDIA website and they officially support codewarks 1R7, I don’t know if this will be supported with current Unreal Engine
So after initially failing to build using the 1R6 install, I went back and made sure to install all SDK versions from 19 up as mentioned by FullMetalDom. This allowed me to build successfully. Seems that 1R6 is fine, just have to make sure to add a few more versions than the documention mentions.
The issue is with codeworks release 7 and before is the software incredibuild. A workaround is using an unsupported approach just go to https://www.incredibuild.com and just download the latest release of the software from there, this solved my VS 2017 integration and debug issue
dir X:\UE_4.19\Engine\Extras\AndroidWorks\Win64 you must be able to find the setup if the unreal engine is downloaded from lancher else you have to redownload y
