Installwizard and dependencies question

Hi guys! Thank you for an extremely powerful game engine!! I’m doing architectural visualizations and I my plan is to offer UE4 games as virtual models for customers. I have to assume that my customers have very little knowledge of computers and therefore I need to make the download and installation process of their virtual model as easy as possible. I guess making an install wizard is the way to go, but I have to assume that the customer does not have any dependencies installed, so is there a way to do this “silently” when installing the model?

My main question is: can you recommend a method for making the installation and running of a virtual model as easy and foolproof as possible? Hopefully making it unnessesary for the customer to manually install visual studio and other dependencies

Btw, when packing the project inside Unreal editor I use “shipping” and “use pak files” and my target platform is windows 32 bit (since there is no 64 bit option).

Cheers!

Hi Schmidt,

Thank you for your report. There have been many version changes to UE4 since this question was first posted. With a new version of the Engine comes new fixes and it is possible that this issue has changed or may no longer occur. Due to timetable of when this issue was first posted, we are marking this post as resolved for tracking purposes.

Thanks very much!
