Why are a massive amount of shaders getting complied when packaging my game?

Hey,

Firstly, I’m quite new to unreal.

I’m just trying to compile my first game, its taken about an hour already and its stuck on “compiling 81,350 shaders”. I know you guy might not be able to help me without seeing my project, but is this many shaders waiting to compile normal for a small game?

My game itself has two levels, a handful of tree assets, landscape mesh. 3 types of foliage and the normal skybox/directional light/skylight. I can provide more info if needed.

If someone could tell me how I could improve my package time and guide me to some material about optimising my game it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
