Source control and individual layers check out?

Hi, you can (and you have to) put each layer into a separate sublevel so that you can checkout only the one you want to work into.
This is how we work.

I was pretty disappointed to see that you can’t check out individual layers in UE4?
This is the solution many studios use so multiple people are able to work on the same map. Is there any plans to integrate layer check out in the engine? Is there any workaround for this other than splitting the level up into distinct sections and using level streaming?
