It would probably help if I added: That MyCharacter.cpp and MyCharacter.h get errors on every single line when I try to compile via Visual Studio.

can you post the errors you get from MyCharacter? because that is most likely the place (posting all of the errors would be best).
on top of that, post the code you have for MyCharacter.
