Auto Mesh Reduction for LOD
I noticed that in the static mesh editor, there is an option to auto generate LODs. I have also read that I need a Simplygon license to use it, however, I have also read that it's just a free built in UE4 feature. Since I am receiving conflicting information about this, I am hoping someone here could clarify. I would really like to generate my landscape LODs to save a bunch of time, but I'm happy with just making my own LODs for static meshes if I need to pay for Simplygon fees and royalties. I'm an independent dev and I'm trying to reduce the cost and overhead of my project, since I'd like to sell it one day if it turns out good.
TL/DR: Do I need to pay for Simplygon to use auto static mesh LOD generation in UE4? Do I need to pay for Simplygon to use landscape LOD generation?
