Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

I'm having the same problem. It just says "busy" for a second and then it goes back to the launch button. Sometimes after pressing Launch the EG window disappears, the app doesn't quit, so if I press the app's icon it just brings me back to where I was, the Launch button... I also updated my OS to 10.11.06 before installing UE, so I don't think that's the problem

Same problem with Windows 4.18.3. Just goes back to the launch button.

Did you have the option checked to start the last open project automatically? Maybe after upgrading, you need to upgrade the project before launching?

If you haven't done so already, I would start with a complete re-install.

If you are comfortable enough

I would perform a re-install as follows - only if you have proper up-to-date backups of everything.

Proceed at your own risk.

Remove UE4 - Reboot - Then remove any instances lying around inside your user profile for example, maybe any folders named 'Epic' or 'UnrealEngine'.

Check these areas:
C:\ProgramData
C:\Users\'username'\AppData\Local
C:\Users\'username'\AppData\LocalLow
C:\Users\'username'\AppData\Roaming

I'd also clear the entire user temp folder in:
C:\Users\'username'\AppData\Local\Temp
You will likely not be able to remove everything, as some items may be loaded into memory - just 'Skip' any of those items.

Along with running the windows 'disk cleanup' utility and/or a program called 'ccleaner'.

I believe UE4 uses the .NET framework 3.5, so maybe a re-install of that as well, but I'm not certain on this.

Make sure to reboot after you are finished with all other tasks before re-installing. You want to be in a fresh rebooted state once ready for the re-install.
