In what way are the recommended landscape sizes better exactly?
I'm looking at the recommended landscape sizes from this guide but I really don't understand what do these numbers actually mean
If using more components reduces performance then why do some of the smaller recommended sizes have up to 16 components when they could just have bigger sections?
I suppose it's good to have some components for LOD transitions as the guide says but those recommended sizes supposedly say they are "Sizes that maximize the area while minimizing the number of Landscape components"

Selecting landscape configuration is all about balancing number of components vs size, to get best performance. Higher number of components allows better culling and better layer splatting. More components does not always mean worse performance.
