Launcher setup fails: "Error reading from file" "Verify that the file exists"

On trying to run EpicInstaller-7.9.2.msi, the following error message occurs:

Error reading from file

D:[me]\Downloads\EpicInstaller-7.9.2-fortnite.msi.

Verify that the file exists and you can access it

I am the computer administrator, antivirus software is off, Mercury is in retrograde… I don’t really have any actionable information here.

move the file out of the download folder and then run it…
