Road spline mesh looks like it came out of minecraft

Can anyone tell me how to make this road spline mesh look smoother on curves and turns? also on turns it looks displaced.

It just needs more geometry, to be able to bend where you want it. You can also hold down Ctrl to select the spline’s bezier curve points, for finer adjustments.

My example might be a little over the top for smoothness, but you can choose your own balance between performance and mesh complexity.

I used Blender Ctrl+R for loop cut to dice up my road mesh. If you press Ctrl+R and scroll wheel forwards to increase loop cuts.
