We are using a blueprint project and since updating to 4.3 (and later) we have been unable to build a .exe file out from the engine.
The error message is “MainFrameActions: Packaging (Windows (32-bit)): RunUAT.bat ERROR: AutomationTool was unable to run successfully.”
No, updating to 4.4 didn’t work. Although it looks like it was an issues with something in that project. In the end the team created a brand new 4.2 project and copied across all assets and now it builds perfectly.
