Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

character walking over a dynamic plank based bridge

I've been trying to get a character to walk over a physics wood plank style bridge (kinda like a rope bridge) and haven't had any success in getting this to work.

At the moment when the character walks over the bridge it looks like the character has infinite mass and the bridge can't handle the weight of the character and eventually the bridge will just over stretch and explode.

I've tried playing with mass settings of both the bridge and character and also the mass settings of the character movement component and setting high stiffness values of the constraints. But nothing seems to work, even tried entering insane mass settings for the bridge and no matter what mass setting I use the character always seems to have more weight than the bridge. Even if I try and make the character the lightest as I can compared to the bridge.

I no idea what I'm missing, to get this to work. Anyone have any ideas on how to get something like this to work in unreal engine?

Playing around with the mass settings usually worked for me in other engines.

Thanks, for any help.
