Vive controller randomly stops working

Hi,

I am experiencing a problem, and I am not sure if this comes down to Steam VR or UE 4.18.3.

This problem only started a couple of weeks ago and has never happen in this project before. Also the code/blueprints has not been changed.

Around 50% of the time when I open UE4 and play in VR Preview, the motion controllers do not track. However they show up in Steam VR. I get no errors. When I print string the location of the controller it is stuck at its original 0,0,0 position.

If I then restart the project, it will work again. And after a while of testing in and out of preview they will stop again.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Yes I have that exact problem. It seems I was getting a steam update error at the time.

This seems more fitting to be a comment than an answer. OP stated he’s getting this problem 50% of the time. It would be hard to imagine that a steam update error would cause this 50% of the time. I’ve had the problem your describing and the problem the OP is describing and they are not the same.
