UE4Editor.exe UI elements throw exception when debugging project from Visual Studio.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open project in Visual Studio.
  2. Right-click project → Debug → Start new instance.
  3. Project builds successfully.
  4. Editor launches.
  5. Minimize/Maximize the Editor window OR roll over UI elements with mouse.
  6. Observe exception.

My current workaround:
I can keep selecting continue however the exception will keep getting thrown (as well, I cannot seem to tell Visual Studio to ignore the exception).

Any suggestions or potential workarounds would be much appreciated as this issue slows down my workflow.

Hi JerodF,

I tried to reproduce the issue that you described, and was unable to do so. Would you be able to provide some additional information?

  • What version of the Editor are you using?
  • Are you using the binary version of the Engine installed through the Launcher?
  • What version of Visual Studio are you using? If you are using Express, are you using the version for Windows Desktop?
  • Does this only happen in one project?
  • Do you experience a crash when you run the Editor outside of debug mode?

Please see this post for some additional information that may be helpful.
