Since reinstalling UE4 again on my new computer I’m finding the editor and the preview game window runs very poorly. I have uninstalled it once to reinstall on my SSD.
What I’m unsure about is I’ve run 4.18 on my previous PC (on the SSD) and had no performance impact, fps was steady at 40+ and never dropped below this number. My new install on my new pc however runs as low as 2fps or as high as 120, I’ve been unable to find a cause of this issue.
My 2 pc specs
Old PC: I5 4 core (3 years old), 8GB RAM, 980GTX, SSD x2, 1 HDD
New PC: I7 8700K 6 Core (4.8ghz), 16GB RAM, 1080TI, 1 SSD, 1 HDD
As you can see my new PC should have no issue with the editor and currently the PC’s performance has been outstanding on every application or game. UE4 appears to be the only application that shows almost unusable performance. I’ve used the editor on both in VR and again the performance is unusable.
