Git would be perfect for your needs. UE4 has some build in features to see what files are checked out and which have been modified.
Alternatively Git Desktop (windows and mac) is very user friendly.
Gitlab & Git are your best friends for projects like that.If you’re planning to stay under 5 members on your team, you can prefer Bitbucket too.
