Grass type with layer info for Static Mesh

Hi!I am building urban planning. I imported SM from 3Ds max into UE4. I have SM house and building city. I want to plant a tree with an alpha map. Like using grass type with info layer for landscape. Is there a way to apply for SM? Please help. Thanks lot

You can probably do it using the Foliage Paint tool. Make sure the option to paint on static meshes is checked.

sorry about my english You may not understand what I mean. I want to distribute trees on top of a static mesh via an alpha channel (like layer info for grass type). hope someone has the answer.
