Try rebuilding from the source manually

I was working in ue4 paper2d and as I was saving up and closing out my editor I remembered something I needed to add, so I reopened my unreal engine to meet an incredibly infuriating message: “Missing (game name) Modules” - " The following modules are missing or built with a different version: “UE4-(game name).dll - Would you like to rebuild them now?”

Clicking yes quickly opens a progress bar that immediately closes and comes up with an error:

“Gamename could not be compiled. Try rebuilding source manually.”

I don’t know if this requires any VisualStudio code but my programming knowledge only goes as far as the nodes inside the editor, I can’t even access the gamenames editor to see what went wrong, i’m completely locked out of the file and it’s quite frustrating since it’s quite a successful game and it’s my only version/copy of it, i’m terribly afraid of losing an immense amount of progress, i’m in need of a quick response I’ll be truly grateful to anyone that can help me out,

thank you

If anyone else is struggling with this I’d like to point you towards here, it worked for me!
