Switching to scope camera: Camera is inside player

When right-clicking, the active camera should switch from the first-/third person camera to the weapon scope camera.
It seems like this is happening, however the problem is, that the scope camera is not where it should be (see first picture), but instead is inside the character for no good reason.
Why is the camera not where it should be? Why is it changing it’s position?

Mhm, it seems like the scope camera is actually NOT beeing activated.

With the function Set view target with blend it now works.

Can this code switch my third person character in scope mode?
