When adding more than 1 audio component to Blueprints another is created.

when adding more than 1 audio component to my blueprint (not a level blueprint), i think there is a bug where 2 audio components are made, 1 takes the already created audio file, the other (i think) pics a random sound ?, its no big issue as you can delete the extra audio asset, but some people may add more assets and use more space/ memory in game when its inst necessary. when compiling after deleting the extra audio asset it can sometimes “linger” in the event graph “variables tab” and there is no option to delete the asset (grayed out) (as it has been deleted already, but is still in variables area?).

Hi bennetherwood,

If you could post more details it would help in testing this issue as I was not able to get this to happen in my setup.

Can you post a detailed list of repro steps? This will help in making sure that I have the same setup as you to verify and making it more easily to reproduce if this is a bug.

Can you also post an image of your Blueprint components tab with the audio asset along with the Blueprint Event Graph with the Variables and functions listed on the side?

Thank you!

Tim

I can’t seem to reproduce the issue now either, but this could be due to me changing the blueprint? I also made some new sound files aswell and imported them into the blueprint to replace the old files, sorry, if it comes up again il post

I’ve gone ahead and converted your response to an answer. If you come across the bug again and are able to reproduce please let me know and I’ll have a look.

Thanks!

Tim
