Particle light cant cast shadows?

Greatings Unreal people!
Here to ask if the particle lights, like P_fire got, can cast shadows? Static or dinamic?
My test shows thay cant… which is a pitty. I wanted to create a nice fire in the night scene…

They cant. It would cost way too much performance, so you need to use a single point light to imitate it.

Can i imitate the flickering somehow?

Of course. You can set the light’s brightness to high and low values with a Timeline, and also move it around a little bit to give it more life.

Well I made a candle flame with a particle system that emits dynamic changing light but does not cast shadows. If i make a point light it will also emit more light which i don’t want. (double the light) I need the shadows to dance with the movement of the candle flame. What should i do next??

Use only the point light and remove the light module in your particle system.
