Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Cover system via blueprints: is it possible?

Hi, everyone

I'm seeking for an easy way to build a cover system (Gears of war, Mafia 2, etc.). I saw a couple of tuts for UDK and sounds like nothing special. But there's not much info for UE4. Is it possible to create a cover system via blueprints and not getting involved in C++ coding? Or maybe some out-of-the-box solutions?

Unfortunately all threads here haven't helped me a lot

Thanks everyone in advance

It is possible but it wouldnt be easy. You can start a new thread in the forums to get more opinions from the community if you like.

I did one with Blueprints. Check it out - It's not finished but it works.

BTW I'm currently in the process of packaging this up for marketplace, so you'll be able to download it in a couple of weeks to see how I put it all together.

It is possible, but as Jacky said it's not that easy on blueprints, it's might be little too complex for blueprint, in C++ it would look a lit cleaner and actually simpler. On simple though, you could have 2 movement system, one for normal and one for cover, i think good shortcut would be utilizing crouch system that is already build in, only thing you would need to do is from 0 would be walk along the wall movement.

There lack of tutorials as engine out just few mouths and most people still discover it's depths, maybe somebody will do such tutorial later.... maybe somebody will release out of the box cover system to marketplace, who knows .
