Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Blueprints will not save

I have Upgraded to 4.20 and activated gameplay abilities. Now I can't save blueprints. I can sometimes but at some random point I can not save any blueprints. I have to shut down and restart and then I can save again. I don't even have to make a big change, a simple add print string and I can't save again, very frustrating. I am basically unable to edit blueprints beyond a single line without saving for fear I lose it all.

Can you describe what can't save means in your case?

What happens when you hit Save button? Can you do File -> Save All?

Just throwing this out there, Are you 100% possitive your project isnt open twice?? Its a common mistake, the launcher will let the same project be open more than once but you cant save anything when that happens

I'm not saying that is not the cause. I have been checking to see what is common when it occurs. What I know is when it occurs I shut down one occurrence and restart it and it saves fine. Having said that I have a SSD and I routinely move around the house, attached to a monitor and disconnected (without powerdown my laptop). I am beginning to think my habit has something to do with it. It may be a hardware issue . I have worked connected at my desk for a few hours without issue, so I will continue to experiment changing my patterns.

I am closing my own thread. It appears that I was leaving the game running (play stand alone) in the background behind the editor, or not shutting it down cleanly. I can't be 100% sure but the problem has gone away.
