Transformations

Hello there.

I have a small problem. I am currently developing a game (Leaving the name out for privacy sake). And in the game I want the character to be able to take on a form. So a transformation of sorts. This will be achieved when the player has gained enough ‘energy’ through a bar. Similar to that of Devil May Cry. But I have no clue on how to do it.

Can anyone help me? Please.

After seeing what Niagara can do (16th min):

There’s nothing left but to learn it and never look back :expressionless:

Due to me having almost zero bucks in
my wallet

It is free, or am I misunderstanding something here?

I want to start of with something that
looks high end but easy to use with
tools at your disposal.

It’s available in UE4 4.20. Since Niagara is Cascade 2.0, it should be easier to use. It is documented poorly, though so it’s not going to be that easy.

Here’s the documentation:

This looks interesting (if a tad oriental):

This was just one suggestion, perhaps you should wait for someone else to offer a better one. Sadly, high-end and easy rarely go hand in hand. On the upside, you’ll be dealing with a cutting edge tool (by UE4’s standards) so that’s future proof!

Thank you, I will check it out

So…I took a look at it. Very nice, but it doesn’t seem to meet the needed stuff I want. Due to me having almost zero bucks in my wallet, I want to start of with something that looks high end but easy to use with tools at your disposal. Is there a tutorial guide on Youtube on how to do this?

Oh, I can’t believe how dumb I was. I just looked at the version I currently have and it was UE 4.19. Not UE 4.20. My bad. Sorry.
