Android - External save files are deleted with uninstall

Is there a way to prevent it? It shouldn’t deleted, right?

Does anyone know?

I think this is by design. Imagine you have 100+ save files of 1MB each. That’s 100MB of space being taken up for no reason for a game you’ve uninstalled as you no longer want to play it. Not only that, but Android devices don’t typically have Terabytes of data to use, so it’s important to remove save files of games you no longer want to play.

Not sure how to change it but I believe that this is working as intended.

Some games does this, so players don’t lose their progress, instead of a server saving. I wish there was an option for save location or some guidance to change the engine code.

You could create a button within the Options Menu to export or save the Save Game file elsewhere so that it isn’t deleted when you uninstall the game? That way you get the best of both worlds.

I don’t know how to do that.
