Hello,

Thank you for your report. We were not able to investigate this on the engine version you reported, but there have been many version changes to UE4 since this question was first posted. With a new version of the Engine comes new fixes and it is possible that this issue has changed or may no longer occur. Due to timetable of when this issue was first posted, we are marking this post as resolved for tracking purposes. If you are still experiencing the issue you reported in the current engine version, then please respond to this message with additional information and we will investigate as soon as possible. If you are experiencing a similar, but different issue at this time, could you please submit a new report for it.

Thank you.

This is not resolved, I’m having this problem.
global shader Cache-PCD3D_SM5 not found or generated.

Have you seen this thread by chance: GlobalShaderCache-PC3D_SM5.bin is missing - C++ - Unreal Engine Forums

It seems that switching from ‘DebugGame Editor’ or ‘Development Editor’ helped solve a similar issue for the issue that you have been seeing.

Let me know if this helps with your issue.

Thanks!

This hasn’t been resolved.

Hi Roy,

Would you still be using the same version of UE4 that you have used when you attached the log file above? If you have updated, would you be able to share your the new build log file?

What version of VS are you using? If it is 2012, I would highly recommend that you use 2013 as we do not support 2012. If you are using 2013, other users have been able to clear up the issue by uninstalling and then re-installing Visual Studio 2013.

Let me know if this helps with your issue.

Hi, I’m using 4.6.1
OK, I will uninstall VB 2013 and re installed it.

Hey Roy,

Just wanted to check in with you and see if this helped with the issue that you were having. If it has not, please be sure to let me know so that I can further investigate.

Thanks and have a great day!

My internet is slow, I’m working on it. THANKS! ! !

installing it right now!

I have reinstalled VB 2013 and the error persist.

Hi Roy,

This error can also happen if some how in the project settings the directx 11 RHI target is unchecked.
Could you check the Project Settings → Platforms → Windows → Targeted RHIs → DirectX 11 (SM5) setting and confirm that it’s checked.

If that doesn’t resolve the issue could you send me the log of the cooker and can you confirm the method which you are using to cook (are you using the editor → package process or unrealfrontend).

Regards

Verifying, checking.

I’m using the package process I don’t know how to use the unrealfrontend in UE4 I do on UDK.

I did as you say, and when open the executable it crash.
Do I have to mark other boxes as well?
