Ctrl-W only works sometimes

Control-W (duplicate) only works sometimes with blueprints or any other thing…

steps to reproduce.

  1. create a blueprint node, or a couple of them and select them
  2. Press ctrl-w around 5 times, it probably wont register a few of those tries

repeat 1&2 and you will see the bug

Are you on Linux by any chance?

no, windows 10, latest updates… also on my mac it works everytime…

I can confirm that, it’s shoddy at best. Here it fails 3/5 times:

It seems to work much more consistently when used outside of a function, though.

it might be a Windows 10 issue I guess, I have absolutely no problem on Linux once I have removed the shortcut from my Window Manager;

This has been a problem for… Forever I guess? I do hope we’ll get a fix soon

I wonder if Windows shortcuts can somehow interfere with the application in focus. Ctrl+W is used fairly commonly. It closes a browser tab (chrome) and never fails to register; for Windows 10 it closes current explorer window.

If someone asked me, I’d say there was no such issue under Win 8.1, but I might be mistaken.

Stupid question but what kind of layout do you have on your keyboards?

Just tried on Windows 8.1 and I ended up with a screen full of Print String… I guess it works fine there lol

It might be worth a look inside any program that creates an overlay like Steam in games or NVidia GeForce Experience or Discord or TwitchApp. (These ones don’t do anything but any other one I don’t know about may interfere with the shortcut)

European layout, with fat enter. English (GB) input mode.

That’s actually worth a lol!

What I fail to mention is that it’s truly inconsistent. In half the cases I can spam ctrl+w with 100% accuracy, it works just fine. In some other cases, it fails to register 60% of the time…
