Initialization stuck at 35% on mac (4.20.2)

I downloaded and installed unreal engine version 4.20.2 and when I launch it, the initialisation gets stuck at 35% and just stays there forever unless I force quit. I am using a macbook air early 2015 model on high sierra 10.13.6. How do I fix this?

Same here, but I am starting to suspect that the MacBook doesn’t meet the minimum requirements, so I guess I will keep using my high-end PC, but the problem is that it is easier to code for iOS from a Mac.

I’m not sure whether or not you understand english, but ‘same here’ is NOT an answer to the problem

You just have to waited … I successfully launch UE4 just reboot the software like 3 times. However test a light game is possible but the interface bugg and is low I don’t if that work with a huge game process…
You can start to learn and have fun but in future if you want to make bigger game buy a more powerful engine !

Anyone got anywhere with this? It my well be that my MBP doesn’t meet the minimum requirements anymore but they do not appear have changed since 4.19 which ran fine. It would also be nice if the Editor crashed gracefully instead of being stuck on 35% for over 2 hours now with the cooling fan on turbo.
