Having issues rendering subsequences in sequencer

I am having issues rendering subsequences in sequencer.

I have recorded 3 ships in play as sequences, and imported them into a master sequence as subsequences. When imported as subsequences, they show up in 3 different layers. Only the top layer renders the engine particle effect as seen in image 1, even when that layer has been swapped with the 2nd layer as seen in image 2. The engines particle effect is going well in the viewport, it’s just an issue with rendering.

Any ideas?

This all looks like it should work as you expect. I could not reproduce what you’re showing. All the subsequence tracks should evaluate even though they overlap in time. It’s only shot tracks that only evaluate the topmost overlapping section.

You could try adding a second and third subsequence track so that they’re not on multiple rows of the same subsequence track. Something like this:

Sorry for the late reply. My project got messed up and I had to get back to where I was originally.

In regards to your suggestion, I have tried it as you can see from the screenshot. It still only renders out the top ship’s engine’s particle effects. I also tried setting them to evaluate in preroll and postroll, but those did nothing to resolve the issue.

I’d suggest making a copy of your project and trying this out in 4.20 or 4.21 if possible.
