Mac: Epic Games Launcher will not open. Error?

This is the error message I get It when the Epic game launcher opens:

"Sign in Failed

Sign in failed, if the problem persists please visit our online support.

The installation directory could not be created. /users/MattH.C.Libraray/Application Support/Epic/EpicGamesLauncher/Data/ESM/EpicGamesLauncher

Error Code: EC-BPS-IZ02"

My Mac specs are: macOS High Sierra iMac (retina 5K late 2015) processor 4 GHz Intel core i7 Memory 32GB 1867 MHz DDR3 Graphics AMD Radeon R9 M395X 4GB

Please give me suggestions on how to fix this issue. Thanks for your help.
