UE4 4.20.2 crashes at launch on Acer Predator

Epic Launcher is loading invisibly, UE4 is crashing on launch, and the crash report is loading invisibly too.

I have a Acer Predator laptop with the following specs.

Geforce GTX 980m
Driver version 399.07
i7-6700HQ @ 2.6 ghz
32gb ram
1920x1080 display @ 60hz

There are a few things happening that I haven’t encountered before on other machines and it seems like it might be an issue with Acer’s setup because I saw a few others having the same problem.

To start, Epic Launcher loads invisible and I can get it to show by resizing the invisible window by grabbing the corners and resizing it. The launcher display doesn’t refresh properly though and I have to continue to resize it in order to see my changes.

When I launch UE4, in this case 4.20.2 the progress goes to 100% and then immediately crashes. Then the crash report has the same issue as the launcher, it’s not visible. I can get it to display by resizing it, but at this point I’m not sure what to do. I got this laptop to do UE4 development and now I can’t do anything with it. The old laptop I was using was an Asus Rog with similar specs and I had no issues at all.

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

I have the same exact issue with my Acer Predator laptop for the past three to four months. I’ve tried reaching out for help on the epic forums but had no success.
