UE4 constently crashes when in use. How should I go about fixing this?

All it shows is this after the crash.

Hey Dev.Default,

I noticed you are running through a Laptop. I had the same issues as well where I had my Unreal Engine 4 crashed all the time. To fix this, you basically need to have your charger plugin as Unreal Engine 4 uses a lot of power. It never happens before from the previous versions, but for some reason, you need more power to use Unreal, otherwise, it would just keep crashing no matter how low you put your graphics settings.

If you want, you can take off the batteries and plug in your charger to have power so that you do not damage the battery.

I hope this helps!

Thanks

I’ve tried that out and it’s not crashed since, thanks. Is it an easy process to remove the battery?

I am unsure what you mean about that, but if you are removing your battery often, make sure it’s charged at least 100% and store it in a cooler place.

You should be able to find tips and tricks online when you do search for it.

Also, it would be nice if you can tick my answer if I had resolved your issue, please. This way, others can view it instead of asking the same questions when they encounter this problem. Personally, for me, I hope Epic Games look into this problem and fix it on the new updates.

laptops aren’t officially supported by epic for developing in unreal engine according to the hardware page. as such a fix probably isnt the highest priority. in my opinion most features that are added are things that are created for the partners then get tweaked and implemented into the engine for everyone else. i dont foresee any major dev working on laptops so again probably not the highest priority. of course this is all my opinion and is just speculation.

im on a pc and getting this since the last update…
